powder-moldPowder mold is a problem with growing plants. A good way to recognize powder mold is by the grayish white color. There are many ways to cure your plants of powder mold. Some of the signs of powder mold are spots on both the top and bottom of the leaves. They can also come in single spots or in groups. If you wait too long to treat the plant, the leafs will turn yellow and brown and then they turn black and fall off. Here are some of the simpler ways of dealing with powder mold:

AQ10,

Cinnamite

Copper

Neem oil

Plant shields

Potassium bicarbonate

Serenading

Baking soda

Elemental sulfur

AQ10 uses a new way of getting rid of powder mold with a biofungicide  which has ampelomyces quisqualis in it. It smothers the reproductive spores in the fungus thus killing the fungus.

CINNAMITE is extracted from cinnamon and is made into a miticide which can also be used as a fungicide. It is not harmful to the plants and leaves a pleasant cinnamon odor.

COPPER ions stop the fungal enzymes killing the mycelium. It is effective and easy to obtain.

NEEM OIL comes from the nut of an Indian neem tree. It protects the plant and kills the mold by interfering with the breathing activity in the respiratory system in the fungus.

PLANT SHIELDS have an organism called trichoderma harzanium. This specific organism attacks and kills all fungi and ensures the future of your plants.

POTASSIUM BICARBONATE has ingredients that break down and dry up the fungus.

SERENADING is a process of fermenting the plants for a mold free plant.

BAKING SODA leaves an alkaline residue on the plant, but it breaks down the mold. You should use half a teaspoon in a gallon jug twice every month.

ELEMENTAL SULFUR blocks the cellular respiration of the fungi and eliminates bacteria from the plants.

I only ever used neem oil and sulfur, and I have never had a major mold problem. Very rarely I have found patches of mold and eliminated the problem before it could spread.
